Really Learn Polish (this time)
This time that I'm studying Polish, I'm not focusing too much on actually quizzing myself. I'll read through the chapter and spend time on things, but I don't make flashcards or write out exercises. I'm doing this in part because the previous times I'd get so bogged down trying to know the whole chapter perfectly before I moved on that I'd end up abandoning ship. We'll see how this method works out.|
I finished listening to the Michel Thomas Foundation Polish since my last post. I just listen during my commute. However, since I knew I didn't get everything the first time around, I'm listening to the whole course again. =)
I've also been watching Disney movies dubbed into Polish on Youtube. It's exciting when I can pick out words that I know and even whole sentences - however short ("tak, to ty!" "jesteś tu?" "czy to ona?"). I feel even prouder when I can figure out the words (though truthfully, this is mainly because I have the Disney scripts memorized in and out. I doubt I could do it with a new movie!).
As for textbooks, I'm still plugging away. I've started 2nd chapter of Oscar Swan's, but haven't looked in the other textbook as recently. I was never able to figure the audio out, but I have been noticing grammar points from the Michel Thomas course in the Oscar Swan book and I feel like such a hot-shot because I already know it. =P
